100 Free 3D Printing Lesson Plans

MakerBot has been making a lot of changes lately. They launched the MakerBot Replicator+ and Replicator Mini+, announced a new Slate Gray Tough PLA material, and launched an all-new Thingiverse Education community.

The revamped community gives you access to over 100 free 3D printing lesson plans. It’s easy to search and browse projects by subject:

The great thing about these lesson plans is that they were all created by educators who have implemented them into their own classrooms already.

Lesson plans include objectives, detailed instructions, lists of the materials needed, rubrics, suggested lesson durations, and more to make teaching with your 3D printer easier than ever.

You can also use the new Thingiverse Education community to connect with colleagues, exchange best practices, or share tips and tricks. There are a ton of different groups you can join depending on what you teach and your interests – groups like 3D Printers in Libraries, Classroom 3D and TinkerCAD.

We’d definitely recommend poking around to see what you think of Thingiverse’s upgrades. The lesson plans are robust and applicable for so many different teaching principles. At the very least, they can serve as some good inspiration for your own planned curriculum.
