In case you missed it, last week we held a series of 3D Printing Model Finishing Workshops at Patrick & Henry Community College, Old Dominion University and Howard Community College. The goals of our workshop were to:
- Learn techniques to get a great finish on 3D prints
- Create vacuum formed molds, then pour, cast, and finish a widget
- Receive a certificate of Professional Development hours completed
Led by Amtek Company’s Rich Sykes and Jake Shortt, we covered a wide variety of post-processing techniques, including sanding, gluing, plastic welding, vapor smoothing. These hands-on activities included discussions around lab safety, tips for varying part finishes, lab management and more.
Attendees also got their hands on with a fun vacuum forming project and mold making project. All-in-all, these were really fun workshops! We always enjoy offering our customers a chance for professional development and training because it means another chance to see many of you face-to-face.
Thanks to everyone who made it out for a successful day of learning! And a special thank you to our host schools – Patrick & Henry Community College, Old Dominion University and Howard Community College.
