If you’re just getting started with your Universal Laser System or if you’re looking to help students learn to use a laser engraver without any assistance, the below video tutorial should point you in the right direction.
Custom luggage tags are a good quick start project because the steps are fairly straightforward and easy to learn.
What you’ll need:
- Universal Laser System, VLS3.50 Desktop Series
- BOFA Advantage 350 Fume Extraction System
- Corel Draw software
- One sheet of cast acrylic (we used a sheet with 1/8-inch thickness)
Although we used a Universal Laser System VLS3.50 and BOFA Advantage 350, any Universal Laser System or BOFA Fume Extraction System will suffice. Just be sure your extraction system has the right amount of airflow for your specific laser system.
Estimated project time: 30 to 60 minutes from design to finish
