Amatrol Launches New Smart Robot Logistics Palletizing Workcell

Manufacturers are increasingly turning to smart technology to automate more of their processes. This includes using smart robots to de-palletize and palletize anything from raw materials for production to finished goods for packaging and shipping. These robots still need human operators to function properly though, and many manufacturers struggle to find qualified individuals to operate and maintain these complex machines.

That’s why Amatrol just announced the newest addition to their Supply Chain and Logistics product line: the Smart Robot Logistics Palletizing Workcell (87-SWPF1V). This system adds to Amatrol’s Skill Boss Logistics (95-MSB3).

It teaches students how to operate, program, maintain, and troubleshoot a robotic palletizing workcell. Students learn how to power-up and jog an industrial robot workcell using an HMI, operate the workcell both manually and automatically, enter and interpret commands, configure robot vision settings, track robot performance, and ensure safety devices are functioning correctly.

Closing the Logistics Loop

As the majority of industry uses robots for pick-and-place functions, the Smart Robot Logistics Palletizing Workcell adds a FANUC robot to Amatrol’s Logistics offering. This system also features an industry-standard Safety PLC from Rockwell Automation. Users can utilize this system to scan products in multiple variations such as store, order, brand name, etc.

Major Features:

  • FANUC 200iD Robot with R-30iB Mate Plus Controller
  • Compact GuardLogix PLC
  • Light curtains across the incoming and outgoing conveyors
  • Light curtain across the MIR access space
  • Vision Camera on the Robot to check box location and read box barcodes
  • 40 Faults for building troubleshooting skills
