Create New Elementary Exploration Pathways with 3D Printing

Last week we headed to Virginia Children’s Engineering Council’s Annual Convention to talk about ways Virginia educators can infuse technology activities into the Standards of Learning.

I gave a presentation on how elementary educators can use 3D printers in the classroom because often at the elementary level, it can be difficult to know where to start.

What types of activities can elementary students excel at? What learning principles can they grasp? How can we get them excited about 3D design?

There are tons of different 3D printing applications in elementary education – art, earth science, engineering, math, history… the list goes on. That makes for tons of different ways to get your students excited.

Check out the full presentation below for advice on how to get started with 3D printing in the classroom and learn about new resources especially helpful for elementary educators.
