Happy National Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Day!

Today marks the first National Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Day.

This day is celebrated to recognize the benefits of fuel cell and hydrogen energy technology and raise awareness of these benefits.

Fuel cells generate electricity using hydrogen and oxygen in a chemical reaction, not combustion, with water and heat as the only byproducts.

Hydrogen and fuel cell technologies are becoming more widespread within transportation industries.

Over the past few months, Hyundai and Toyota both introduced their fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs), right on track with the plans for commercialization by 2015. We expect Honda, GM, Daimler, BMW, and others to do the same.

The innovators behind these vehicles are the same graduating from some of the best mechanical, chemical and electrical engineering programs. Several universities in our area are making major headway in fuel cell technology innovation.

That’s why we’re happy to announce Amtek Company offers a wide range of fuel cells (ranging from 12W to 30W) for education and research from Horizon Educational.

Head over to our store to see what we’ve got.

Need something made custom? We can do that too. Contact us to learn more about the options and pricing.

And Happy National Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Day to you!
