In case you missed it, last week MakerBot debuted its new 3D printing classroom package: SKETCH Classroom. This package enables real world problem solving through design thinking and 3D printing in a setup that integrates easily into the classroom. It includes:
- two (2) MakerBot SKETCH 3D printers
- twelve (12) licenses for the MakerBot Certification program (which is ISTE-certified!)
- 2 for teachers; 10 for students; covers 3D printer operations and its creative capabilities
- six (6) PLA spools
- four (4) build plates

- two (2) snip tools
New 3D Classroom Package Packs a Punch
The SKETCH Classroom is designed to enable both teachers and students to problem-solve using 3D printing. Classroom management is made seamless with MakerBot Cloud because it allows you to manage students’ projects and your classroom print queue from any browser. MakerBot Cloud is integrated with TinkerCad, Autodesk Fusion 360, and Onshape.
You can also take advantage of the more than 600 lesson plans — across various grade levels and subjects– currently available through Thingiverse Education.
MakerBot SKETCH 3D Printer Specs
The SKETCH 3D printer features a 150mm x 150mm x 150mm build volume as well as a built-in particulate filter, enclosed chamber, and touch screen controls. It is UL-Certified and is safe to use in the classroom.
