New UV Flatbed and DTG Printers for Education

Roland DGA just launched two new printers, ideal for university arts and graphics programs as well as print shops. Here’s what you need to know about both.

VersaUV LEC2 S-Series UV Flatbed Printers

The new VersaUV LEC2 S-Series are easy-to-use UV flatbeds print high-quality, vibrant, impactful graphics onto a vast array of rigid substrates and pre-manufactured objects, including metal, plastic, board, wood, canvas, vinyl, paper, vegan leather, other non-wearable fabrics

You can can choose from two available widths (30” and 64”) as well as three length configurations (F200, F300 or F400), with all models offering an impressive printable height of 7.87 inches (230 mm).

So why should opt for an LEC2 S-Series flatbed printer over other systems?

You can print on a wide variety of media up to 7.87 inches thick
The possibilities are endless for your class’ fine art and photos, banners, posters, backlit displays, wall graphics, packaging, window coverings, window graphics, interior decor, leather and vegan leather goods, wood goods, metallic items, lunches boxes, and more.

You can create signage, customized products, personalized gifts, and custom prints on virtually any type of media, including plastics, card stocks, foils, metallics, specialized films, generic sign products, BOPP, PE, PET film, synthetic or natural leathers, and textiles.

Excellent print quality, vibrant color, and special finishes, including eye-catching textural and 3D effects
With the LEC2 S-Series, you get amazing print quality from Standard Mode to Artistic (720 x 720 –1,440 x 1,440 dpi). The system comes with 40 preset media settings for various materials, taking the guesswork out of your hands. You can also front load media making it even easier to use.

User-friendly, easy-to-operate, and compact with robust features
The LEC2 S-Series features include:

  • Separate control tower with touch panel.
  • Quiet, powerful vacuum with “Reverse Blow” function
  • Signal beacon with additional alert capabilities
  • Advanced firmware featuring “White Space Skip” and “Distance Mode”

Efficient workflow and low operational costs
Bundled with new and improved VersaWorks® 6 RIP software you’ll have an easier time printing with White and/or special gloss/matte
effects. There is also a printer color-matching function compatible with VW-S1, i1, or Barbieri.

Texart XT-640S DTG Printer

The latest addition to Roland’s Texart® series, the XT-640S direct-to-garment printer, basically lets you “turn up the volume” on graphic T-shirts, apparel, and other fabric products with next-level DTG printing technology and production capability.

You get entry-level industrial printer but at a much lower price point. Features include:

  • 8-inch height clearance and 54-inch x 63-inch flatbed printing space so you can add numerous large, bulky fabric items like blankets, jean jackets, and bed linen to print output
  • Innovative sliding baseplate and platen flatbed operation for easy, continuous daily production of a broad range of printing projects
  • Intuitive digital workflow with pre-defined print environments and machine features that adapt perfectly to software systems and API for the ideal web-to-print solution
  • Specially formulated and Eco Passport Certified, INKU inks are available in CMYK and high-density White which allow you to produce everything from bold color prints to opaque, vintage prints with a natural look and feel
  • Included CADlink Digital Factory Apparel Software works as standalone RIP, or can be integrated with existing fulfillment software systems for on-demand printing
