21ST CENTURY EDUCATION TECHNOLOGY guide

This month we're talking all things 3D printing. Check out some of the latest rapid prototyping materials from Stratasys and learn when open source 3D printing does and doesn't make sense for educators.

Scroll on to see what you missed at some of our recent workshops -- like our CNC Fabrication and Design and PLC / VFD Systems workshops.

CNC Workshop

CNC Design and Fabrication,

Our Workshop Recap

We held two CNC machining workshops focused on design and fabrication — one at Nansemond-Suffolk Academy in Suffolk, Virginia and one at Montgomery College in Rockville, Maryland.

Attendees completed a lab just as they would ask their students to do – using a Denford router and Denford QuickCAM 2D Design software with the VCarve plugin.

Training Workshop

We recently held 1-day intensive Festo Didactic PLC and VFD systems training workshops for educators at Virginia Western Community College and BridgeValley Community and Technical College.

We covered real-world PLC applications and advanced VFD systems.

When Open Source 3D Printing

Makes Sense for Educators

Those who want to experiment – or hack their 3D printer – have more flexibility within their design process and timelines than those who want reliable prints every time they press the print button.

Here's Rich Sykes' take on when either option makes sense in education.
