Last week we headed to Goochland County Schools and Patrick Henry Community College for a full day of hands-on experience with portable trainers that teach today’s modern manufacturing production areas including assembly and machine operation.
Experts from Amatrol joined us to offer hands-on training with their Skills Boss trainers. These systems fit onto a standard tabletop and features an electric motor, variable frequency drive, human-machine interface, pneumatic pick-and-place module, and more. When setup, this system will quality test and sort blocks made from plastic and metal.
Experts from the Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC) also joined us to discuss their Certified Production Technician (CPT / CPT+) Certifications – the in’s and out’s of certification and how to certify your students. The CPT Certification addresses the core technical competencies of higher skilled production workers in all sectors of manufacturing.
MSSC also recently launched its new hands-on CPT+ Skill Boss training and certification system. This CPT+ Skill Boss program offers individuals the opportunity to earn an additional MSSC Certification (the Certified Production Technician Plus) based on Amatrol’s Skill Boss trainers.
Completion of all four CPT Modules, which is currently required for the full CPT Certification, is a prerequisite for a full CPT+ Certification. However, students who satisfactorily complete hands-on training for each of the four Modules (Safety, Quality, Production Processes, and Maintenance Awareness) will receive a “MSSC Transcript,” authorized by their instructor, for each Module.
