Stratasys Releases SR-35 and Digital ABS Plus Materials

Stratasys recently announced new materials for its 3D printers – a support material for select FDM systems and a new improved digital ABS material for select PolyJet systems.

SR-35

Available for use on the Fortus 380mc/450mc in Classic and Plus canisters

There are two types of FDM Support materials – break-away support that is easily removed by hand and water-soluble support for easy, hands-free removal using the WaveWash 55 cleaning system.

SR-35 is one of the latter. It is a dissolvable FDM support material that makes it possible to produce intricate and complex prototypes and models without the need for time-consuming manual support removal.

SR-35 is the newest, next generation soluble support from Stratasys, which reduces the time to part by reducing the dissolution time by 40-60% while extending the support removal bath life by up to 50%.

SR-35 can be used with ABS-ESD7, ASA, ABS-M30, and ABS-M30i on the Fortus 900mc, Fortus380mc and Fortus450mc.

Digital ABS Plus

Available for use on: Objet 1000, Connex 3, and legacy Connex platforms

Stratasys’ Digital ABS material has been reformulated for greater impact resistance, and is now called Digital ABS Plus. In addition to its newly improved mechanical performance, parts made with Digital ABS Plus and Digital ABS2 Plus have attributes of high-temperature resistance, toughness and superior finish.

This material is ideal for:

  • Superior accuracy and precision
  • Multi-material versatility and flexibility
  • Enhanced dimensional stability for thin-walled parts
  • Functional prototypes, snap-fit parts for high or low temperature usage, electrical parts, castings and engine parts

Common applications for this material include:

  • Functional Prototyping
  • Manufacturing Tools
  • Molds, including injection molds
  • Snap-fit parts for high or low temperature use
  • Electrical parts, casings, mobile phone casings
  • Engine parts and covers

Digital ABS Plus is available in green and ivory on the Connex3 and Objet1000 platforms.
